Following Specialty Consulting, Inc.'s (SPC) prior Phase I & II ESA evaluations, the Inner-City Muslim Action Network (IMAN) sought SPC's expertise for additional assessments involving field sampling, analysis, and LPC-663 preparation for a land parcel slated for renovation. SPC's environmental engineers conducted the project in strict compliance with ASTM-1537 regulations, EPA, OSHA, and IEPA standards.
SPC conducted field sampling and lab analysis to advise IMAN on the land's health before renovation and construction. IMAN initially engaged Specialty Consultants, Inc. (SPC) to provide environmental services for purchasing the property from the City of Chicago.
In August 2020, SPC performed a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) to evaluate potential environmental impacts based on historical land use. Subsequently, a Phase II ESA was recommended to address historical spillage, adjacent underground storage tanks, and potential hazardous waste sites.
Retained in January 2021, SPC conducted the Phase II ESA, installing three soil samples and two temporary groundwater monitoring wells. Soil borings and monitoring wells were advanced using a direct-push-probing device, with soil samples collected using the Macro-Core® MC7 Soil Sampling System, ensuring accurate and comprehensive assessment results.
