Specialty Consulting, Inc. (SPC) conducted a comprehensive Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) for a job site in Watseka. SPC's Environmental Engineers meticulously investigated the 56-acre property, conducting interior and exterior building investigations, developing health and safety plans, researching site history, and conducting site reconnaissance.
Upon completion of the ESAs, SPC shared the results with Kobawala Poly-Pack Inc., providing essential information for informed decision-making regarding the site's redevelopment.
The Phase I ESA involved extensive site history research, reconnaissance, interviews, government database searches, and the preparation of a detailed written report. Phase II ESA findings revealed three underground storage tanks (USTs) removed in 1989, classified as Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs) due to potential unreported releases. SPC recommended further investigation to assess the nature and extent of these RECs.
Tasks completed included Health and Safety Plan preparation, Hand Auger Sampling, Temporary Monitoring Well Installation, Groundwater Sampling, and reporting findings of Phase I & II ESAs to the client.
SPC's thorough assessments and recommendations ensured informed decision-making and proactive environmental management for the site's redevelopment.
